Professor Yang Jun’s team’s research results on the mechanism of acupuncture in the treatment of facial paralysis won the Medical Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Medical Association UpdateTime: 2022-02-11

Recently, the Chinese Medical Association announced the 2021 Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award Award Project, and the "Research on the Application of fMRI to Explore the Mechanism of Neural Function Recombination Based on acupuncture treatment of Bell's facial paralysis" declared by the team of Professor Yang Jun of our hospital was successfully awarded. As the highest academic society in the field of medicine in China, the science and technology award of the Chinese Medical Association is an authoritative award in the Chinese medical community, and only two units in the national traditional Chinese medicine system and Anhui Province have won the award, and our hospital has also won the science and technology award in the Chinese Medical Association for the first time.

Based on 20 years of clinical practice, the study affirmed the efficacy of early and long-term sequelae of facial paralysis through large clinical sample studies. On the basis of clinical effectiveness, the brain function data of patients with facial paralysis and healthy volunteers with a large sample size of functional magnetic resonance were collected by means of functional magnetic resonance, which affirmed the role of brain function recombination in the rehabilitation process of facial paralysis, and partially revealed the neurobiological mechanism of acupuncture in the treatment of facial palsy.

The research results were undertaken by the "115 Innovation Team" of acupuncture treatment in difficult diseases in Anhui Province, and the third-level laboratory of digital imaging technology of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Through the series of projects, more than 20 domestic and foreign doctoral and master students have been trained. He has published a total of 45 academic papers, including 14 in SCI.

The award shows that the medical community fully recognizes and affirms the imaging research results of the acupuncture effect of our hospital, and effectively promotes the development of our hospital into a research-oriented hospital.
