On the afternoon of July 29, Fang Jun, senior researcher of genomic translational medicine laboratory, Institute of oncology, National Institutes of health, was invited to hold an academic exchange. Yang Jun, President of the hospital, Liu Jian, executive vice president, Qin Gan, Professor of modern physics of University of science and technology of China, Fang Zhaohui, academic leader of endocrinology of traditional Chinese medicine, director of scientific research department, Li Xueling, backbone, members and graduate students of endocrinology of traditional Chinese Medicine of State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by executive vice president Liu Jian.
Yang Jun fully affirmed the achievements of the development of TCM endocrinology. He pointed out that as an important part of the base construction, TCM endocrinology has formed an excellent academic team and achieved fruitful research results. The discipline of endocrinology of traditional Chinese medicine is required to study, research and explore endlessly in combination with this academic exchange, so as to make breakthrough, innovation, development and breakthrough with the help of others (National Institutes of Health). He pointed out that the project of continuously promoting the research on key diseases in the base is an important task in the 13th five year plan of our hospital.
Fang Jun, a senior researcher of the National Institutes of health, introduced the latest progress of genomics in the field of diabetes research in simple terms. He proposed to grasp the efficacy and safety of drug treatment of clinical diseases from the difference of gene composition or expression changes, so as to provide technology and methods for individualized diagnosis and treatment in the future.
Fang Zhaohui, the academic leader of traditional Chinese medicine endocrinology, believes that the research methods and contents of genomics are similar to the holistic view and syndrome differentiation and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine; it can carry out the research on TCM syndromes and related susceptibility genes of diabetes, and it has curative effect on the prevention and treatment of diabetes. The influence of Chinese herbal compound on gene regulation and expression is to promote the clinical research of traditional Chinese medicine.
The academic leader of traditional Chinese medicine endocrinology signed a cooperation agreement with Fang Jun, senior researcher of Institute of oncology, National Institutes of health of the United States, and reached an agreement on the research direction of 2-3 young endocrinologists selected by our hospital for short-term study, academic exchange and the influence of traditional Chinese medicine on diabetes susceptibility genes in the National Institutes of health of the United States. At the meeting, we had a heated discussion on genomics related issues.
