On November 16, the structure of the traditional Chinese Medicine inheritance and innovation building of the hospital was officially capped, providing good conditions for the overall implementation of the project on schedule. The ceremony was presided over by Nie Jiusheng, member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and secretary of the Party Committee of the hospital.
At the ceremony, Zhang Yongqun announced that the building was capped. He pointed out that the construction of the building cannot do without the attention and support of the provincial Development and Reform Commission, the provincial Health Commission, the Shushan District and other government departments, and the hard work of the builders of the participating units. He said that the university will give the strength of the whole school to support the construction and development of the hospital, hope that the construction units to further strict safety and quality, ensure the construction progress, strengthen cooperation, and strive to build the traditional Chinese Medicine inheritance and innovation building of the first affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine into a high-quality project, assured project.
Yang Wenming, president of the hospital, said that the building of inheritance and innovation is a key project of the provincial government, as well as a project of people's livelihood and public support, which has attracted much attention from the masses. Under the correct leadership of the competent departments at all levels of the government and the school, under the joint efforts of the participating units and the care and support of other relevant units, the participants overcame various difficulties and completed the main structure capping ahead of the original plan under the premise of ensuring quality and safety. It is hoped that all participating units will strengthen quality and safety management to ensure that this project is completed on schedule and put into use as soon as possible, so as to contribute to the development of TCM health in Anhui Province.

The successful completion of the TCM Inheritance and Innovation Building is an important event in the development history of our hospital. The building will enter a new phase of construction and is expected to be open by the end of next year. After completion of the building, the hospital will comprehensively improve the level of TCM clinical services and the ability to inherit and innovate, steadily promote the sustainable and healthy development of TCM, and provide better and more convenient TCM services for local people.
In 2017, our hospital was selected and approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In April 2018, the TCM inheritance and innovation project of our hospital was approved by Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission and listed as a key project of Anhui Province. The main building has 22 floors above ground and 2 floors underground, with a total construction area of about 60,000 square meters and an investment estimate of about 330 million yuan. It mainly includes traditional Chinese medicine wards, famous old Chinese medicine inheritance studios, disease prevention centers, etc.
